Tagar's Insects is a great spell for distracting enemies and forcing them to interrupt their attacks. Although the class description indicates that they're more of a spellcasting class than a melee-oriented one, we found it best to pump up the Shaman's strength and send him into battle with a big two-handed weapon. We found ours to be really powerful at the end of the game, though, mostly due to three of their spells and their ability to use almost every set of weapons and armor in the game, save for bows and two-handed swords.
